I've decided to stop trying to get Meta verified. I need this for inbound leads, which I have experience running. My preferred method is Meta ads converting to a WhatsApp ai agent, and ideally one that I build and can manage. I've tried many other SaaS apps, including big ones like ManyChat. I'm not a fan of them, they're too complicated and there's not enough control. The problem is right now, I'm fully blocked on getting Meta verified. I mean for like 2 months as well. Maybe more, so I need another way to the same outcome. Inbound leads, people who've already asked for AI help and don't know where to turn, coming to a WhatsApp (hugely popular in Europe) and to my own ai agent. How I get there, I don't really care.
Inbound leads coming in matters past the annoyance of it. The business only works if it keeps a pool of clients who've already proven out, not just the two currently on retainer. Contracts here are short by design, proof of value first, then either the client books another sprint six months later or they don't. Nobody signs a fractional engagement like it's a full-time hire, that's the whole point of fractional. Which means the real asset isn't this month's two clients, it's the growing list of people who've already seen the work and know it's real, and that list only grows if new leads come in the door regularly enough that some fraction of them convert, deliver, finish, and come back around. It's the exact intake logic I lifted from Designjoy back on Day 16, just choked off at the very top of the funnel this time.
What's actually in the way isn't the work. I wrote in June about the identity mismatch, the BVI incorporation against a Swiss address, three rejected verification attempts before Meta asked for a document with my business phone number printed on it that I didn't own. I got that document. It didn't matter. Meta's own business verification process has no visible path for a small, legitimately offshore operator: no case worker, no phone line, just a queue that reopens the same questions every few weeks. Twilio's WhatsApp sender registration sits downstream of that same Meta approval, so a block on one side blocks the other by construction. Neither platform is built to say yes quickly to a company registered in one jurisdiction, operating from another, run by one person. Not a complaint about being singled out. Just what the plumbing looks like when you're small and your paperwork doesn't live where the form assumes it does.
So here's where the decision is for this week, because there isn't a fourth option that makes this simply not a problem.
One: stay unverified on the ads side for now, pull WhatsApp sending off Twilio entirely, and keep running the bot exactly as built, the same Cloudflare Worker tied to the same Claude vault. The upside is I keep the thing I actually like, an agent that already qualifies a lead better than I do live on a call. The open question is whether that genuinely escapes the underlying WhatsApp Business Platform requirement or just moves the same wall to a different vendor's name.
Two: pay a verification service to push the Meta account through and keep the exact setup already built. Fastest route back to where I was two months ago. Also the most expensive way to solve a problem that's free for everyone whose paperwork happens to sit in one country instead of two. At this point, I don't really care about paying someone to get my business verified but I haven't found a great service as they are nearly all SaaS services and I would lose the control going with a SaaS.
Three: research a fully independent build, most likely routed through the openclaw fork already running outbound prospecting through Apollo, so the same shell that's finding leads could also be the one qualifying them, with no third-party compliance queue sitting in between at all. Most work, most control, least certain, and the one I'm most curious about. This is probably the last option.
I haven't picked. That's the honest state of this, not a tidy conclusion dressed up as one. The 365 day rule I set for myself is to write what's actually true today, and today's truth is a working agent, a paused ad account, and three ways forward I'm weighing rather than one I've already chosen. Whichever one wins, the next post says why.
Monthly Revenues $11,000 | Clients 2 | Prospects 1 outbound live, Meta and WhatsApp still down
